Shanta Rao
Shanta Rao (1930 - 28 December 2007) was a notable dancer from India. She was exponent of Bharatanatyam and also studied Kathakali and Kuchipudi.
She was recipient of Padma Shri given by Government of India in 1971 〔(【引用サイトリンク】publisher=Ministry of Home Affairs )〕 and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award given by Sangeet Natak Akademi, India's National Academy for Music, Dance and Drama, in 1970 〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=SNA: List of Akademi Awardees )〕 and Kalidas Samman for Classical Dance of Government of Madhya Pradesh for 1993-94.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.mpculture.in/html/kalidasaward-dance.asp )
Born in 1930 in Mangalore, and lived in Mumbai and Bangalore. She died on 28 December 2007 at her home at Malleswaram, Bangalore.〔
